Alexie Glass-Kantor is Executive Director at Artspace Visual Arts Centre (Sydney).
Artspace is a leading international residency-based contemporary art centre, housed in the historic Gunnery Building in Woolloomooloo fronting Sydney Harbour.
Prior to this Glass-Kantor was Director and Senior Curator of Gertrude Contemporary (Melbourne). Established in 1983, Gertrude Contemporary is one of Australia’s oldest and most highly-regarded non-profit contemporary art centres with a program that supports exhibitions, artist studios, international residencies, cultural exchange, curatorial research and publishing.
She has been also a curator at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) and had holding positions in state art institutions, museums, independent spaces and festivals. As a curator she has undertaken recent projects in Malaysia, Singapore, China, South Korea, USA and Italy, and in collaboration and with Natasha Bullock she is co-curating the 2012 Adelaide Biennial of Australian at the Art Gallery of South Australia.
Glass-Kantor regularly contributes to symposiums and journals throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
