Valeria Paz is an independent curator and researcher. She was Head of Museum at the National Museum of Art, La Paz, Bolivia, where she also worked as Curator of Exhibitions. She has worked as an independent curator in Bolivia and has undertaken extensive research into Bolivian contemporary art.
She also recently co-authored the first survey publication of Bolivian sculpture. She is guest curator of Unravelling Threads, an exhibition centring on indigenous textiles from the Andes and works from ESCALA, the University of Essex Collection of Art from Latin America.
Paz is currently researching at the University of Essex on the topic art as an emancipating device in the work of Bolivian conceptual artist Roberto Valcárcel.
