Ms. Sozzani’s early career on the editorial side of the fashion business put her in contact with some of the great photographers of the 20th century. Working with talents Helmut Newton, Bruce Weber, Sarah Moon and Steven Meisel, she developed strong friendships and a passion for the medium. Shifting her focus but not her intensity, Ms. Sozzani opened in 1990 the Carla Sozzani Galleria at 10 Corso Como in Milan.
Since then, the Sozzani Gallery has hosted over 250 exhibitions from the great icons like Man Ray and Edward Steichen to the cutting edge shows of Duane Michals, Paolo Roversi and Loretta Lux.
A book documenting the Galleria will be published by Carla Sozzani Editore in 2012.
